Blind Week 2009

This year's Blind Week appeal is about celebrating 'Molly's Blind Week'. Molly is a lively five year old, born with a rare chromosome disorder which left her completely blind in one eye and partially sighted in the other.

We urge you to see the difference you can make to Molly's life and the lives of the Foundation's 11, 700 blind and partially sighted members by donating to Blind Week.

Please call us on 0800 DONATE (366 283) to make a donation to Blind Week.

Alison Wheatley, the Foundation's Executive Director Marketing and Fundraising says that "while the Foundation will be celebrating this important cause, this year we won't be having a street collection due to the expense involved in running one in the current economic climate."

"The big heartedness of donors provides a lifeline for Foundation members. We're trying to raise over $500,000 so we can continue giving our members the skills they need to do everyday things we all take for granted, like getting from home to work, cooking dinner, or surfing the net."

Fundraising ideas to support the appeal

There is no street collection this year, but we still want to celebrate Blind Week and raise the much needed funds for our 11, 700 members. You can help us do this by donating, or getting involved in your own community event, or by organising a fun-filled fundraising activity.
